Travelers with Special Needs

Now that you’re in Hawaii, we invite you to enjoy the best the Hawaiian Islands have to offer. The Disability and Communication Access Board (DCAB) from the Hawaii State Department of Health has compiled a list of Hawaii Traveler Tips for Kauai, Maui and Molokai, Oahu and Hawaii Island with a comprehensive list of transportation options, equipment rentals, service animals and more. 

The DCAB website also provides information on parking for persons with disabilities and emergency preparedness.

Access to Hawaii’s Beaches and Trails

Kauai

All terrain wheelchairs are available at selected beaches on Kauai including Lydgate Beach Park, Poipu Beach Park and Salt Pond Beach Park. For further information and to confirm details before visiting, contact the County of Kauai’s ADA Coordinator at (808) 241-6203.

Oahu

All terrain wheelchairs are available at selected beaches on Oahu including Ala Moana Beach Park, Fort DeRussy Beach and Sans Souci Beach in Waikiki, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, Kailua Beach Park, Kualoa Regional Park and Pokai Bay Beach Park. Maui
