To Know Before You Go

More general tips:

• Make copies of your important traveling documents (passport, driver’s license, medical and automobile insurance cards, and others) and leave them with a person whom you trust and who is not traveling with you. This way you will have access to important information in case you lose or misplace such items while traveling.

• Know and have access to important phone numbers, such as relative phone numbers, credit card issuers, medical physicians, insurance companies, your airline, hotel, car rental company, and other contacts you may need to access while staying in the Hawaiian Islands.

• Let someone you know and trust know when and where you will be traveling. Provide that person with your flight, hotel, travel dates and contact information so they can reach you if necessary.

• Make plans for your mail service. Visit the United States Post Office to learn how you can hold mail while you are on vacation or traveling on business.
